Strategically Thinking: Military History Contribution

Abstract

Having a strategic thinking definition as a starting point -circumscribed to its use in military science and particularly to make evident the decisions made by scholars and great captains of universal military history, as well as the study of the genius and ability of the strategist to analyse problems holistically (decisions review as an integrated whole to understand their results and pur- poses) - this article deals with the theoretical context of the definition, to provide an input and let the individuality of each reader acceptance, as well as contribute to a new perspective on it. This is a theoretical and unpublished exercise that explores beyond the current use of the concept and ultimately faces strategic thinking to the current meaning of strategy.
