Strategic Reflections on the White Book on National Defense of Brazil

Abstract

This article aims to make a strategic analysis of the White Paper on National Defense of Brazil published in 2012. The book complements documents on Policy and National Defense Strategy pub- lished before, giving the national society the opportunity to engage in Defense matters and to the inter- national community the opportunity to learn about the Brazilian Armed Forces, its dissuasive character necessary to protect the Brazilian territory, but, above all, the need for capacity building to address the threats of the XXI Century in cooperation with its regional neighbors and the Southern hemisphere more effectively, strengthening mutual trust and allowing Brazil to remain a peaceful country.
