Abstract
This article addresses to the concept of international crisis according to the Defense White Books of Argetina, Chile, Peru and Bolivia. Firstly, the basic notion of international crisis contained the mentioned official documents is examined. Secondly, key issues and common variables are identified, in order to compare the different perspectives held by the States. Finally, strategic political attitude of each State is established, with the aim of contribute to the proper identification of risks and threats and deter- mine how the crisis management performed by the state of Chile can be affected.
