Green Hydrogen: New security challenges for Chile in the transition of the global energy matrix.

Abstract

This article shows the relevant aspects that Chile must face on front of one of the greatest opportunities in its history to achieve the long-awaited development, through the creation and strengthening of an industry around the so-called Green Hydrogen. For this, it’s presents a journey reviewing the fundamentals of energy and its influence on the development of humanity, at international markets, the geopolitical context that has governed the conflicts around the energy industry, the global threat of climate change, the fundamentals of hydrogen as a fuel alternative, Chile's potential to lead this international industry and finally the defense challenges to safeguard this future development.
