Challenges of the Chilean Army to face threats in Multi-Domain Operations

Abstract

This article analyses the origin of the Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) model and the problems in which armies are involved due to the characteristics of the current operational environment. In addition, it makes a comparison between the current model used by the Chilean Army (Maneuver Warfare) and the MDOs in order to identify differences and similarities between both, together with carrying out an analysis of the operational environment and the national reality to identify conditions that facilitate or hinder its execution. Finally, challenges are identified and posed that allow discussion regarding an eventual assimilation in Chile.
