Abstract

In recent decades, water, along with food and other basic needs, has helped the concept of security transcend the restrictive approaches that inexorably linked it to military risks and conflicts to cover more diverse threats. The unquestionable importance of this resource for life and geopolitics has led to the emergence of a diffuse concept: water security. The problem, precisely, is that there is a multiplicity of approaches to the concept that makes the analysis of water safety difficult, therefore, this article, in addition to providing a clear definition of the concept, from different perspectives, covers the most direct relationship between water and security
