Abstract

This article attempts to review the concept of common sense from a philological and philosophical perspective, giving an account of the most relevant perspectives or of the classical authors who have been concerned with this notion, focusing attention on the use of the concept Takt des Urteils in Clausewitz’s work linking it with common sense, not as an external validation of the judgment, but as an element of its nature. It is intended to offer opposing perspectives to the concept of common sense and finally to project some problematic lines to the work of those who intend to act as decider.
