STRESSORS: THE HIDDEN ENEMY OF THE MILITARY

Abstract
As a result of the many lessons learned in some countries with real combat experience, the armed forces have made great efforts to increase their knowledge of combat stress, incorporating science and technology into their field of study, with the sole purpose of understanding the causes and effects that these stresses have on the military forces, and from there, to design an effective method to manage the effects they have on the performance of soldiers.
The purpose of this article is to raise awareness among the components of military forces, and especially their commanders, of the importance for the effective employment of military forces of identifying and knowing the stressors or combat stressors that can affect soldiers during their employment in military operations, as well as to demonstrate that some programs exist today to strengthen resilience. The above, with a view to narrowing the knowledge gap in order to improve the teaching-learning processes and, consequently, to optimize the decision-making processes of commanders at all levels.
