Financing of Military Spending in Chile

Abstract

Independent from the financing mechanism of military spending, the state has the obligation to defend against external threats or risks that could obstruct the achievement of the objectives that enable the development of a country. In that sense, the preservation of external security is a public function under the direct and exclusive responsibility of the president of Republic who has all national capacities. Within the principal means are the armed forces which, besides of being organized and trained to fulfill their mission, they must have the necessary elements to operate efficiently.
