The cold war. A singular war?

Abstract

This work aims to categorize –from de angle of Polemology– what kind of “war” was the so-called Cold War, even more so when there were neither formal declarations of war nor direct armed clashes, but there were many indirect contests between this two main contenders: USA and the USSR. Establishing not only features of its factual and theoretical existence, but also its antecedents and consequences. All through a comprehensive and selective historiographic analysis of the material in order to stablish, through the historiological lens, truths about the actual meaning of “The Cold War”.
